I learn the best way to clean it up and making a wreck. I learn to arrange my materials. I learn pride and possession.
So, we are led by this to giving kids a place they are charge of. You lead plus they follow. Instruct them the best way to get one thing at a time out. Instruct them to maintain their wreck on the mat. Instruct them to place each of the pieces into a game in the carton all of the blocks in a single pail, and all of the books back on the ledge.
I wonder just how many architects blocks, Legos and started out with Tinker toys? Just how many chefs started out with plastic food and an Easy Bake oven? Many child care providers and parents started out with a plastic baby doll that weeps and wets? Many fire fighters started out using ladder and a toy truck. The list could go on and on. Some thoughts start out at a young age through play. This experience encourages into reality. Let us lead them while we can.
